Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity this year offers:

Southern Caribbean 7 nights cruise starting Saturday departing San Juan, Porto Rico on the Infinity.

The Zenith will do the Western Caribbean.. Tampa will be its Home Port which is very good News for some Floridians and Snowbirds wintering in Florida.

Constellation Celebrity's newest ship was launched in June, 2004 with a mediterranean cruise. There are good reviews on its inaugural.

Clipper Cruise Line

"The Crystal Cookbook," a collection of almost 100 recipes and wine pairings from the line's culinary repertoire, has been published in a 180-page volume. The book is hardcover and full of color photos and insightful descriptions, correlating to Crystal's worldwide sailing regions. Contributors include Jacques Pepin, Wolfgang Puck, and others. Recipes include Tuna Sashimi, Chilean Sea Bass baked in Banana Leaves with Glazed Mango and Orange Butter, and Alaskan Crab Soup... Between all those meals, Crystal announced that it will sail to 11 maiden ports of call this year, including Easter and Pitcairn Islands, Togo, Ivory Coast, Principe, and Isole Tremiti, Italy. Cunard Line

Queen Elizabeth 2 will host some 20 theme cruises this year. QE2 has added a branch of Harrods, the London luxury department store, to its retail mall. It will offer signature gifts and souvenirs, packaged in the company's traditional green and gold shopping bag. QE2 completed an $18 million refurbishment program just in time for this year's World Cruise. Cunard announced plans for the largest passenger ship ever built, an 1100-foot long, 20-story high, liner that will carry 2500 guests. The "Project Queen Mary 2" the largest ship afloat was launched early 2004

Delta Queen Steamboat Co.

Two new musical reviews will be added to the 416-passenger Mississippi Queen and 436-passenger American Queen. "Hooray for Hollywood" is a collection of songs from the big screen, covering generations of musical magic. "Once More with Feeling" is a musical journey through the 20th century, featuring hits and highlights from 100 years of American popular song. They'll be presented in the ships' showroom saloon.

Disney Cruise Line

The big news at Disney is that seven-day cruises has begun, when the 1740-passenger Disney Magic embarks from Port Canaveral for St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Castaway Cay, Disney's private Bahamian island. New entertainment, programming, and dining options will be introduced. There is an all-new stage spectacular featuring magic and new interactive features called "Navigating the Seas," "Disney Behind the Scenes," and "The Art of Entertaining." Rotation dining in three rooms will continue. There is a midnight buffet in the kitchen galley, a deck party in St. Maarten, adult-zone entertainment, and many first-run and Disney movies in the Buena Vista Theatre.

French Country Waterways

It contains sections on the company's barge fleet, itinerary highlights, routes in Burgundy, Champagne, Alsace-Lorraine, and the Upper Loire and Moselle Valleys, and food and dining ashore. Holland America Line

Holland America has just announced savings of up to 66% on several Mediterranean, Northern Europe and Alaska cruises.

The company will expand into the five-day and eight-day Caribbean cruise market next year. Its 1494-passenger Westerdam will operate from Fort Lauderdale, with the five-day itineraries stopping at Key West, Holland America"s private Half Moon Cay island, and Nassau. Eight-day trips stop at Nassau, San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay... E-mail and the Internet have arrived on Holland America's just-launched 1440-passenger Volendam. Guests can go on-line on a real-time basis, use e-mail, and surf the Web. The ship's first summer will be in Alaska... The next new ship, the 1440-passenger Zaandam, debuts this spring, sailing Eastern and Western Caribbean trips this summer... The line's whole fleet now offers a casual Lido dinner option.

KD River Cruises of Europe

KD's new schedule includes 36 itineraries and more than 400 departures. The Rhine, Elbe, Danube, Moselle rivers are featured on the 12-ship fleet. Up to 184 passengers can be accommodated on the larger ships.

Norwegian Cruise Line

New Broadway shows will be introduced on the Norwegian Wind, Norwegian Dream, Norway, and Norwegian Sky. The full-scale shows will feature an aquatic revue, a production based on the musical Girl Crazy, an elaborate show that captures the '50s and '60s, a version of Guys and Dolls, and a variety of other popular themes... NCL will reposition the 1518-passenger Norwegian Sea to Miami next year to offer three-and four-day cruises to Nassau, Key West, and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's private island... For the first time, NCL will base a ship in Seattle for summer Alaska cruises. It's the new 2002-passenger Norwegian Sky.

Intair has forged a new partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. The company plans to diversify their selection to include Norwegian Cruise Line and their "Homeland Cruising program," Intair will offer a selection of sailings departing from Charleston, Houston L.A., New Orleans and Seattle

Norwegian Coastal Voyage, Inc./Bergen Line Services.

Silja Line this spring introduces fast ferry service on the Baltic between Helsinki and Tallinn. The new $30 million SuperSeaCat IV cruises at 42 miles per hour and carries 752 passengers and 164 cars. Crossings will take only 1 1/2 hours.

Orient Lines

The only separate kosher kitchens at sea will be available to passengers of Orient Lines' Marco Polo and Crown Odyssey. Eight kosher cruise vacations ranging in length from 11 to 18 days will be offered this summer . Daily services, Shabbat activities, Dead Sea Scroll lectures, select onshore tours, and special cantorial performances have been scheduled... Orient Lines introduced a new fjords and Iceland itinerary as well as an Africa-India-Southwest Asia run.

Peter Deilmann Cruises

The year-old 505-passenger Deutschland now has a fully equipped dialysis center that can accommodate 23 kidney patients per cruise... This year the Deutschland will travel through the Far East, Europe, the Americas, South Pacific, and Africa.

Princess Cruises

Princess' Web site — www.princess.com — won "Outstanding Web Site" honors from the Web Marketing Association. It carries live camera shots from the bridge of each of its vessels, wherever they may be in the world. Also there: 360-degree photos that enable viewers to navigate about ships, video clips, a screen saver, and more. Princess begin year-round Caribbean cruising. The 2600-passenger Grand Princess will alternate between the Eastern and Western Caribbean... Expect to see additional Princess ships re-flagged to United Kingdom registration. It's part of parent company P&O's program to reregister 50 ships in the UK.

Radisson Seven Seas Cruises

Major itinerary and program changes for Radisson this summer: first-ever voyages to New Zealand on the 180-passenger Song of Flower, summer cruises from San Francisco to Alaska and Asia on the new, all-suite 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator, and theme cruises on the 350-passenger Radisson Diamond and 320-passenger Paul Gauguin in Polynesia.

Regal Cruises

Three nights docked in Key West is the highlight of a five-night cruise based on the annual Fantasy Fest, a 10-day world-class costume party often dubbed a cross between Mardi Gras and a Spring Break for Adults. Regal's 900-passenger Regal Empress will depart Port Manatee, Florida, cruise the Berry Islands, a cluster of 30 small islands in the Bahamas, then return to home port. In Key West.

RCI buys Pullmantur

Royal Caribbean Cruises is to acquire Spanish based cruise and tour operator Pullmantur and has announced a ship swap between that company and Royal Caribbean's Celebrity brand.

Celibrity's Zenith will be moved to Pullmantur in June 2007 and Pullmantur's Blue Dream (New name Celebrity 'Journey')will be added to Celebrity's Expeditions Fleet in April 2007 Agent's and guests may call 281-9343 for more information.

We have been trying to find out what Royal Caribbean was up to but they were always very secretive about their newest Meg-ship the Freedom of the Seas.

Well here is what we have been able to find out:Here is what you can expect to find when the world's largest ship is unveiled in the spring of 2006. YES you are right I did say the largest. The Queen Mary 2 will no longer be the largest ship afloat.

Royal Caribbean's new Freedom of the Seas takes ship design to the edge and beyond with afamily Water Park, Cantilevered whirlpools and a Dedicated Sports Pool plus, much, much more!

There will be a top deck aqua environment unparalleled in the cruise industry, featuring three massive pool areas. RCI has ordered its fourth and fifth "Eagle"-class ships. The 3114-passenger vessels will be built at a cost of $1.1 billion and be ready in 2002 and 2003. They'll be twins to the Voyager, Explorer, and Adventurer of the Seas. A four-deck atrium promenade, atrium-view cabins, an ice skating rink, and a rock climbing wall will be included. An atmospheric and marine laboratory with an interactive environmental classroom is part of Explorer launched in October... An expanded European program will be operated this year by RCI. Two 1800-passenger ships — Legend and Splendour of the Seas — will visit Europe, Legend primarily in the Greek Islands and Med and Splendour primarily in the Med and Scandinavia... Two ships will be deployed in Alaska again this summer... Seattle and Port Canaveral will become home ports for two of the carrier's ships this season... RCI has named its Enchantment of the Seas its first "Environmental Ship of the Year" and its Monarch of the Seas winner of its "Best Environmental Innovation of the Year" citation. The awards, which will be presented annually, are designed to encourage the company's commitment to environmental innovation and improvement. Judging was conducted by independent external auditors. The only cruise line that was established solely for Caribbean cruising.

Seven-day itineraries aboard the brand new Olympic Voyager are scheduled this summer and fall. Athens, Santorini, Alexandria/Cairo, Ashdod/Jerusalem, Rhodes, Istanbul, Kusadasi, and Mykonos are on the culturally-rich schedule.

Seabourn Cruise Line

Cunard Line's 758-passenger Royal Viking Sun has joined the Seabourn fleet following $15 million in refits and improvements. The highlight is a glass-enclosed Spa du Soleil. A computer learning center, a golf putting green, and enhancements to the Garden Café were also made.6-star cruise lines Seabourn and Silversea are offering deep discounts on several cruises departing between now and the end of the year. 50-51% on Seabourn, savings of 48-49% on Silversea. In addition, Seabourn is offering shipboard credits of $200 per stateroom on several of their deeply discounted Mediterranean sailings departing between June and September.


Silversea Cruises

Silversea's first ever world cruise is set. The 296-passenger Silver Wind will leave Los Angeles and San Francisco in January for a 126-day journey to more than 50 ports in 30 countries... This fall, its new 388-passenger Silver Shadow will debut in the Mediterranean. Following a transatlantic cruise, it will conduct cruises down the U. S. east coast and through the Caribbean.

Silversea Cruises is launching its first Grand Mediterranean Cruise thi summer, visiting 37 destinations from Venice to Istanbul.

 

Windstar Cruises

Windsurf's expanded dive program offers Caribbean's top sites.

Divers take note: Windsurf's popular xcuba diving program in the Caribbean has expanded with new, doubletank dive sites in Dominica, Grenada ans St Martin. The elegant 312 guest motor sailing yact offers some of the finest reef diving in the region in sites teeming with marine life.

World Explorer Cruises

World Explorer, which has been sailing the waters of Glacier Bay since 1978, has been awarded additional National Park Service permits to visit the natural wonder. All of its 14-day trips in 2000 will now go there, where 17 of Alaska's 52 tidewater glaciers converge. In presenting the permits, the Park Service cited World Explorer for its "very good visitor service environment program, including a highly-developed lecture series and strong cultural program.

We have not been able to get up to date information from this cruise line. Under www.worldexplorer Cruise the home page feature "Jobs at Sea" or something like that. Please check with CLIA if you want more information on this cruise line.
